Spring has come early to Moosehorn Lodge, and we are ready for a great season!May is usually a scramble to get this lodge ready for you to enjoy. This year has been a great exception, as the wrath of winter left in mid April, allowing plenty of time to spruce up the lodge grounds and prepare for another incredible fishing season here. Despite the economy downfall last year, we have seen an increase in bookings for this 2010 season, which means that things are slowly improving everywhere. Thank you to all of our great repeat customers who return each season, and have kept us going in these tough times. There are many new faces that have taken advantage of the very competitive rates that we have not increased for over two years. We look forward to meeting you, and showing you the most incredible fishing vacation here. Opener for Walleye starts in a few days, and fishing will be incredible, as these fish finished spawning many weeks ago and have filtered everywhere back into the lakes. We have taken advantage of early spring, and were able to fish walleye from a boat for a few days before they closed in April this season. Lake Trout, Splake and Speckled Trout are currently open here, and results of fishing for them has been great action, with trophies caught and released as well. Greg R, Greg M, Linda and Nicole have been busy prepping the camp for the past few weeks and things are looking brilliant. Carter is currently still running the other business in Pickle Lake to the north of here. Water levels are sitting around the same as last spring, and with recent rainfall, and having the dam slowed down, we are expecting a daily rise. The forecast for this weekend is warmer than it was all of last summer, so we expect better weather all season long! The team at Moosehorn will be working together; to ensure that every aspect of your vacation is perfect, and you're fishing is the best that you could have anywhere!
