The Moosehorn TeamHere are some of the people who make it happen at Moosehorn Lodge! Linda RiceLinda is co-owner of MHL. She takes care of the bookings, marketing, scheduling, and the fine detailing of each trip. She does not sleep much during the season, as her addiction to fishing occupies most of her free time. If you creep in the lodge late at night she will be in the office doing her bookwork. Linda is an avid outdoorswoman, and currently holds the women's world record (57") in musky fishing, and is otherwise known as Muskie Mamma. With quite the collection of other over fifty inch fish in the past few years, she is threatening to beat her own record! She has been known to guide on occasion as well. Carter RiceCarter is co-owner of the lodge. He is a hard working individual by day, and is always busy fixing and maintaining things around camp. Every morning at breakfast he is there to greet you, and ready to make everyone's day run smooth. Most evenings he will be found relaxing at his houseboat on the dock, and usually has friends drop in to say hello. Carter is truly one of most unique individuals you will meet in your lifetime, and has endless life experiences to share with all. An accomplished guitar player and vocalist, if you ask nicely he may just strum you a tune! Greg RiceGreg Rice is about the handiest guy you could ever meet. A professional chef by trade, he provides Moosehorn Lodge with fine dining at every level, and is complimented by guests and locals alike. He excels at maintenance on every level, and even if he has never encountered a problem, Greg will figure it out. This hard working individual is here from morning till night, and will make sure that everything is right for you. Nicole ArcherNicole is the smiling face there to greet you in the morning to serve breakfast. She puts in long hours as well, and does her share of office work, cabin cleaning, and back again to serve at dinner time. Just like her mother, we wonder if she sleeps at all, as she works another full time job in town as well. She, as well works hard at all aspects of the lodge, and the team sure does appreciate her help. Meet the GuidesWe have a team of the Area's proven most productive, to put you on the fish! Colin GosseColin strives for perfection, and treats his occupation with absolute professionalism. He has made a lot of good friends that come back, and fish with him every year. With sixteen years of producing trophy fishing on these waters, he will do whatever it takes to make sure it is a fun filled day of action, trophies and memories. Colin also does some marketing for the lodge, loves to talk and write, and will answer any question you have about fishing. Be sure to ask about the "Manitou sandwich", Fire Fries, Baked Fish and "BS" Beans for shore lunches. Greg MarinoGreg is focused on fishing, and has put more 50 inch muskies in the boat than anyone in the area. Greg can guide to any species at any time to perfection. With over seventeen years guiding experience you can be sure to the day will be productive, you will be prepared incredible lunch, and have a good chance to catch the fish of a lifetime. He has brought many guests to their first monster musky, as this is his favorite game. Even when he is not guiding, he is fishing hardcore, usually with Linda in their quest for a world record musky. Ben BeattieIt takes a very skilled man to join our team of guides, and Ben has already proven himself to be just that. This polite and professional angler joined the Moosehorn guide staff in 2009, and had 4 years previous guiding experience on Lac Seul, with Silver Water Wheel Lodge. It was very shocking that this man learning such vast new waters so quickly, and proved to excel on fishing them in his first year here. All of the guests that spent time on the water with Ben this past season were very impressed with his skills and professionalism. He has made many new friends and clients in this area. While walleyes, smallmouth, and northern pike were his previous specialty, Ben has definitely figured out the muskies here as well, and landed his best at 49", plus guided many guests to huge muskies, including a monster 54". Ben is an outdoor enthusiast, and when he's not guiding he spends his time hunting and ice fishing. Ben is also a freelance outdoor writer, and his work has been published in several fishing magazines, including a full feature in "Real Fishing" magazine this year. He looks forward to meeting new, and fishing with repeat guests at Moosehorn Lodge this coming season. Bryon ColeBryon Cole has been with us for quite some time, and has a long history of remarkable trips. This veteran has over fifteen years experience on these waters as well. He is one of the gentle giants of this world. You will never find Bryon in a foul mood, and is friendliest guy you could meet. While out with you in his element, rain or shine, he is truly happy to be there. This man can find his way to the best fishing of any species, while blindfolded if he had to... Silent but deadly is the best ways to describe Bryon's skills. Remember to book your guide early, to ensure the availability.
